The Book Project: The Prologue online!

I finally finished the draft prologue. It is the organic blue print of The Book Project; A very rough outline of what to expect, but flexible wherever necessary. The reason I share it at this early stage is very simple. I would like to have your thoughts on it, your feedback, your commentary! I must admit it is pretty exciting to put something so precious and personal on the internet, but with a book coming up, that is just something to get over!

So, here it is. The prologue of The Book Project:

I am not ashamed to admit that I am living the life of my dreams. That certainly doesn´t mean that all my dreams are fulfilled, oh no! I believe everyone should have dreams to make come true at any time, no matter what your life looks like. A dream is one more reason to live for, and once reality, it is one more reason to stay alive and to make something out of it. Because I also believe that life is worth to be made something of.  No one wants to live an unhappy, miserable life, but very few say themselves: “I want to make something out of it, I want to live the life of my dreams!”

One of the main reasons the above sentence is not an often used one-liner, is because a majority of the people simply lacks the confidence in themselves to make something out of it. It is the believe that financial success is for the very few – the very few others, of course – and that making the world a better place is for those who are so much more generous and serving than we are.

From, practically, the day we are born until the day we die, we are told and taught that dreams are unrealistic, unachievable flashes of the imaginary world that only exists in our heads. The almighty Wikipedia describes a dream as “images, thoughts and feelings experienced while asleep, particularly strongly associated with rapid eye movement sleep,” and continues to explain that “the contents and biological purposes of dreams are not fully understood.” Dreams are those things we have at night, and those who make their dreams come true are just lucky – in a way we will never be, of course…

While reading the first part of this book, you will learn that the life of your dreams is not so unrealistic at all. Step by step, you will get to understand why you have a lot more power over your own life than you might think.  The first and most important step in this ‘creative process’ is to understand this. As soon as you understand the basics, I will show you how to apply this knowledge.

This is a book from my generation, for my generation, and knowing that we have a challenging future ahead, I would like to make my contribution by sharing my vision on it. Because our personal happiness is closely related to what happens in the world around us. In the second part of this book I will go through the challenges that bring our happiness in danger, my thoughts on them and the thoughts of other people who are part of this generation.

I believe everyone´s personal ability to manage his or her own creative process is going to be one of the most important skills in the decades to come, not only in one´s personal life and career, but also in facing the challenges of the 21st century. In the third and last part of this book, I will explain how we can gather behind a simple set of common values to efficiently solve the problems that affect us all, so we can finally focus on what we were born for: our happiness!

You might think that this is another of those fluffy motivation guides that do not even motivate you to read it until the very last page, or another courageous attempt to achieve world peace. I am not going to pretentious, so all I can do is to invite you to give it a shot and read this book from the first to the last page! What I do want is to share a story with you. It is a personal story of a young guy at search for meaning. It is a very personal attempt to give my own life more meaning. And if it gives your life just a tiny bit more meaning, that would be more than I had possibly hoped for…
