I regularly have the extraordinary opportunity to speak to groups of people about communications, young entrepreneurship, and about life success and happiness.

Mini-seminar: It Sounds Crazy… So It Might Work!
In about an hour, I present the essence of achieving any goal in life, whether it’d be in your personal life, in your relationships or at work. I believe that being successful is the ability to manifest those things in life that make you the happiest possible. What those things are, is different for everyone, so this mini-seminar focusses on the broadly applicable strategies that can be applied to virtually anything. That might sound crazy, but it does work for me and many people around the world who have manifested their dreams. It might just work for you as well!

9/10 September, 2009 @ Baltic PR Weekend, Saint Petersburg, Russia
Winning Europe’s Hearts

At the annual Baltic PR Weekend, and at the invitation of SPN Ogilvy, I had the opportunity to speak to 500 key PR professionals from all over Eastern Europe. During the 20-minute talk, I presented the Eurovision Song Contest format and the successes of the 2009 contest, that took place in Moscow. The presentation also featured some of the key challenges; diversity in audience generations, different images in different countries and the long-tail aspect of the format. The presentation was chosen as second-most favourite of the audience.

Embedding networking skills into your lifestyle

Together with Danny Mekic’, I was asked to speak at the Company Contact Day of the University of Applied Sciences in Utrecht. In a bit over an hour, Danny and I introduced young entrepreneurship and the lifestyle we believe is crucial to achieve success in business, and moreover in life itself. We presented the Concious Living-model we developed, and summarised successful networking in five steps. Finally, we took questions from the audience and gave practical suggestions based on our own personal life experience.

17 February, 2009 @ Chamber of Commerce, Amsterdam, the Netherlands
Young, successful and working hard as an entrepreneur… and then?

Together with my friend and colleague Danny Mekic’ I had the honour of giving a seminar for a great audience - the Young Business Talents club. We spoke about various aspects of entrepreneurship. How do you make sure the work doesn’t kill you? Both we underlined that happiness is the most important goal to reach out for, and that your work should always be a way of getting there, not the goal on itself. Is success still success if you’re unhappy?

Help! The Public Takes Over!

How to promote TV-content through social media tools? Technological advances are driving convergence and have changed consumption patterns. In order to keep up with these new challenges, broadcasters are expanding their activities to new distribution platforms in order to extend their brand and to engage a larger audience. Using the Eurovision Song Contest as showcase, I had the opportunity to speak to a broad audience of European public broadcaster representatives about this subject. This speaking occasion was facilitated by the Eurovision TV Interactive Unit.

14 February, 2007 @ Forum Virum, University of Art & Design, Helsinki, Finland
Keynote: How fans affect the Eurovision Song Contest through the internet

In 2007, I was invited to Finland by the Forum Virum innovation platform, to speak about the increasing influence of ‘consumers’. Thanks to the internet, ‘fans’ of your event or product can affect opinion of a broader audience, influence brand perception and even take their say in a decision making process, whether you appreciate that or not as event organiser, product manufacturer or service provider. Taking the Eurovision Song Contest, which took place in Helsinki in 2007, as example, I presented various ways how fans can affect your event or brand, and gave suggestions on how to deal with this influence.
